Her father died instantly, her mother in the hospital.
She learned to say the words without sadness, without emotion. Like her name, her age, the name of her doll. Marina now lives in an orphanage surrounded by other girls. But Marina is not like the other little girls.
Such Small Hands explores the games that turn into war, and the wars which are really only games. Met with cruelty, fascination, and a strange eroticism, Marina navigates her new world with her only friend, Marina the doll. Tense play games become secret night-games, and soon they are the stuff of nightmares.
